Lost Valley is hardly ever visited and is pristine rainforest, having never been logged. We climb up a steep path to the top of the Wanganui waterfall where there are a number of rockpools. We then enter the Valley where the stream glides silently out of this 'Garden of Eden'.
After about a kilometre the stream starts to burble as it descends through boulders that have fallen from 150m high cliffs. We finally come to a 50m waterfall that is not even marked on maps!
