This is a forest bathing walk that will include slow walking and nature connection activities as we ascend a hillside that takes us through rainforest to an ancient tree grove. We reach a ridgeline to finish where we have magnificent views. This walk is on private property and is at invitation of the property manager. Meet at the property at 9 and finish by mid-afternoon after staying for lunch and a cuppa.

The Postman's or the Nightcap Historic Track is a remarkable walk with multiple ecosystems, massive trees, wildlife and breath-taking views of the Mount Warning caldera, including stunning views of Wollumbin (Mount Warning). The easterly route starts at Mount Nardi which stands at about 792m, it’s not quite all downhill from there, but we end up at Rummery Park 369m. In the middle there is the Nightcap Bluff which stands at 829m and the amazing Dirangah Rocks (eroded volcanic vents) and great views of the Tweed Valley from the teatree lookout halfway. 19km and Grade 4, we will do this as a keyswap where half the group will drive from Rummery Park to Mt Nardi while the other group starts walking from the Campground. We will walk from the headlands,  following trails close to the shoreline, onto Chinamans beach, all the way to Goanna head. We will return via bush track. Approximately 10 km, grade 2. Bring your swimsuit, and the usual morning tea, lunch, sunscreen, water, first aid kit.  Meeting at 9 am for prompt departure 9.10 am. This year we will host our tranquil moonlight walk on the night of the winter solstice.  Let’s walk under the light of the moon and bathe in the forest at nighttime – it feels like another world. We will gather at Goonengerry National Park, walk along an open trail without artificial light, spend 20 minutes at a sit spot, and then find our way through the forest to the waterfall to view Wanganui Gorge in full moonlight. We can finish with a hot cuppa. Grade 3 About 5 km 2-3 hours. You will need a headlamp, preferably a red light one for low light, and something to sit on. Starting at Mrs Birdy (after coffee if you arrive early) we walk west through South Golden Beach to the start of the Optus track which descends through Eucalypt woodland and Melaleuca wetlands to the beach. We then walk south along the beach, possibly with a swim en route, back to Mrs Birdy for lunch or a snack if the mood takes us. The walk is about 7km's with some uneven surfaces and probably some creek crossings which will result in wet feet, old sand shoes or sandles are a good option. The walk is grade 2 or 3 and should be easy for most people. It's a beautiful, half day, loop. Bring, shoes that you don;t mind getting wet, drnking water, hat etc. and swimmers. We've got another Ladies intro to multi day hiking coming up! 4 days walking along the epic coastline between Yamba and Red rock. This hike is beginner - intermediate and the perfect hike to introduce the joys of simply going bush. We'll be  spotting emus and wallabies and learning bushcraft and hiking skills along the way. This is a favourite walk from Sharpe's Beach along the coast, past Boulder Beach, Pat Morton Lookout, the famous Lennox Head surf break and then a cafe break in Lennox village. We will return at an easy pace, or if you only want to walk one way you can discuss setting up a car shuffle. It is Lennox Festival on Saturday so Lennox   will be alive with stallsmusic and food. A beautiful walk up the side of the Wanganui/ Coopers creek valley to the top of the waterfall and the entrance to Lost Valley. From there we rock hop and scramble through untouched rainforest to the base of Lyrebird falls. We retrace our steps to get home. Swimming opportunities, bring your bathers. Not for the faint hearted. Mostly off track with some navigation required. Bring lunch, water and leaches may be plentiful. A stunningly beautiful walk on many levels. An exciting social evening with presentations by David Roland and companions who recently walked the Milford and Routeburn Great Walks in New Zealand, and Bob Brockhill illustrating his and Irene's recent adventures in the Snowy Mountains of NSW. Caroline Jones tripped and fell foward while descending from the lookout. She has a badly sprained wrist which may need further treatment.... Brummies Lookout Loop is an 11km, grade 4 hike located in the Wollumbin National Park, New South Wales Meet: 8:30 am Tyalgum at “Flutterbies Cottage Café”, ready for 8:45am car departure – we can car pool from there for the 10-15 minute drive to trail head.     Return between 12-1pm           Spectacular 360 degree views  Advise to wear long pants & maybe bring bug spray. Saturday night camping after our 19km hike between Mt Nardi and the Rummery campground relaxing around the camp fire. We will do a short walk on Sunday morning for those who want to loosen up from Saturday- or just chill out in this favourite campground.
